CFD Modelling and Visual Analysis of Heat Transfer and Flow Pattern in a Vertical Two-Phase Closed Thermosyphon for Moderate-Temperature Application

A heat pipe is an energy-efficient transfer device that relies on evaporation and condensation processes for energy transfer. The main purpose of this study to simulate a two-phase closed thermosyphon, at moderate temperature, can be used in industrial applications such as steam power plants. After creating computational network the Gambit software, thermosyphon simulated Fluent software using VOF model. Special oil employed working fluid. Based CFD results, efficiency system reaches approximately 96%, thermal resistance decreases 0.54 K/W. contours boiling process differing filling ratios, ranging between 30–90%, visually investigated best performance obtained 30% ratio thermosyphon. At higher more giant bubbles are generated which attach inner wall reduce performance. steady-state condition 84 s after start process.
